Dear 91��Ƭ community,

The last several months have challenged our university community in many ways. We find ourselves in a moment that requires us to navigate a great deal of uncertainty every day. This is not easy, and I know that many of you are understandably anxious about what is happening around you. In times like these, it’s important to reflect on why we are all here and all the good we do at the 91��Ƭ.

Students Prepare for Undergraduate Research Conference

91��Ƭ Davis student Natasha Bibbs of Sacramento has already gone places with academic research — and she hopes to go even further.

The fourth-year student travelled about 2,000 miles to Louisiana and more than 150 years back in time to discover how someone she believes is an ancestor — perhaps her great-great-grandfather — became one of the first Black doctors in his community and used his status to contribute to the African American community.

WarnMe messages provide information and directions regarding emergencies that pose an immediate threat to life and safety. Aggie Alert messages, sent using the same system and contact information, provide notification about events on and around Davis campus facilities that may cause disruption to normal activities.

When a researcher at 91��Ƭ Davis needs a tool that doesn’t exist, they often turn to Tech Foundry, a facility that uses 3D printers, CNC machines and laser cutters to create one-of-a-kind devices and prototypes.

The development facility, known previously as the TEAM Lab, is operated by the Department of Biomedical Engineering and has had a location in Davis for more than 15 years, and is now in the process of opening a second space in Aggie Square.

City of Davis Police Advise Public To Avoid Area Near Community Park

The city of Davis Police Department is currently on scene at Community Park, 201 East 14th St., investigating a reported shooting. Please avoid the area due to a heavy police presence until further notice.

The park is about a mile north of the 91��Ƭ Davis campus. There is no credible threat to campus.
