Today the 91��Ƭ, Davis, released the recommendations of three task forces that addressed basic student needs including affordable student housing, food security and mental health care.

Chancellor Gary S. May of the 91��Ƭ, Davis, has established three task forces of students, faculty and staff to examine affordable student housing, food security and mental health care.

“These are issues that have tremendous impact on our community,” the chancellor said. “91��Ƭ Davis has a great many services and resources available to our students, but it’s not a static landscape.

“How can we continue to provide the resources our students need effectively and efficiently? That’s what I’m asking the task force members to help me determine.”

91��Ƭ Davis to Build 1st 50 Homes for Faculty and Staff at West Village by 2018

91��Ƭ Davis announced that it will re-engage with its plan to build housing units for faculty and staff in West Village, a planned zero-net-energy community that sits on university property. The project is designed to help recruit and retain employees faced with the high cost of housing in the Davis area while meeting ambitious energy saving and sustainability goals, Acting Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter said.
