Picnic Day 2025 Wrapped

The 111th edition of Picnic Day, one of the largest student-run events in the country, took place Saturday (April 12), with tens of thousands in attendance.

From animal events to coffee tastings, the campuswide event had something for everyone, including multiple live performances, exhibits and live demonstrations that brought all corners of campus to life and invited the public to see what happens every day at 91��Ƭ Davis.

Picnic Day Board Announces 2025 Theme and Marshal

The students behind Picnic Day on Thursday (Nov. 21) announced a theme and parade marshal for the annual campus open house.

Picnic Day 111 will carry the theme of “Welcome to Wonderland” and highlight Laci Gerhart, an associate professor of teaching in the Department of Evolution and Ecology, as the parade marshal. The student-run event will take place on April 12.

The “Picnic Palooza” is ready to kick off at the 110th Picnic Day this Saturday (April 20), and there are plenty of ways to celebrate.

The annual campus open house is expected to draw tens of thousands of people to 91��Ƭ Davis for activities, performances, animal events, research exhibitions, giveaways, food and more. It is believed to be the largest student-run event in the nation.

Picnic Day Tickets Available for Doxie Derby, Fashion and Dance Shows

Updated April 12: Tickets to the Doxie Derby are sold out, but the event will be livestreamed.

Faculty and staff, start planning your Picnic Day itineraries: Free tickets to the Doxie Derby are available online starting today (April 9).

The tickets, distributed at no cost online ahead of the event, were made available to students Monday and will open to members of the general public tomorrow.

‘Picnic Palooza’ To Be Theme of 110th Picnic Day

The 110th Picnic Day, to be held on April 20, 2024, will have the theme of “Picnic Palooza” and feature 91��Ƭ Davis staff member and alum Sheri Atkinson as parade marshal.

The 15 students of the Picnic Day Board of Directors announced the theme and parade marshal for the university’s annual open house at a campus reception Thursday.

“What better way to celebrate the 110th Picnic Day than with a palooza?” said Picnic Day Vice Chair Mina Sarmah.
